It’s Over!
After 11 sleeps, three boat trips, three dozen or so meals, 2,878 kms, 8 lighthouses and about 10 lbs of potatoes (each – it seemed) our trip is over. I do have to say that if you have read the previous post about Jeremy’s table manners/habits, he kept his record going until the end. I am very proud of him. Peggy just keeps mumbling about laundry. As I write this we are sitting in the airport awaiting our flight out of St. John’s and back to our real lives.
We came here expecting to see some whales, icebergs, cliffs and moose. We left here seeing all of those (except the icebergs). In addition, we met some really nice people, few of which could give good directions or had any idea how long it was to get to where we were going. On more than one occasion I was told ‘just down the road’ only to find it an hour or so away from where we were. But with all I just mentioned taken into account what I will remember the most is the landscape and geography of this amazing province. It constantly amazed me and just when you thought you had seen it all we went up another hill or around another corner only to be blown away by what lay ahead. For those of you who are from here or have been here you more than know what I am talking about. For those of you who have yet to discover this best kept secret then what I have written in this blog and the pictures I hope to share with you will not do justice to what we have seen and experienced. It is simply an amazing place.
This will be my last post about our Newfoundland trip. Thanks for coming on our little journey with us, I only wish we could have shared it with you in person.
Bob
What a great adventure that you have all taken and I am really glad that NL was all that ‘we Newfs’ say that it is. Now you will understand why we always have the pull to go back home. Some for a visit and some to stay. There is no place like it. Have you gotten the bug? You could work for Tourism Newfoundland & Labrador. Your Blog was Fantastic!
Thanks for taking us along on the ride!

Ebert and Roeper give the McDougall’s NFLD Blog – two really big thumbs up! No pun intended, Bob. Looking forward to having you all back on the mainland!
