Hockey Tryouts start tomorrow!
You know the summer is winding down when you have completed your back to school shopping and hockey tryouts are tomorrow. YIKES. Alex is trying out for Major Atom AA. As you may know he is a goalie and loves playing the position. Good luck Alex we will be there cheering you on!!
New Backyard Deck
We have sold our hot tub as we never used it and it just sat there being maintained and costing $$$. Most of the old deck is being removed and a new deck and pergola are being installed. After removing half of the old deck (the other half is being re-used), Alex and I installed [...]
Tournament Shutout in Peterborough
Blazers celebrate tournament success in Peterborough. The kids had a good weekend in Peterborough. With wins against the Stirling Blues (3 – 2), Percy Bulldogs (1 – 0) and Rice Lake Ravens (9 – 2), the Blazers earned a spot in the semi-finals. The Irish Loop, St. Vincent’s, Cape Race, Cape Spear and St. John’s
We left Clarenville this morning and headed for the local Timmy’s for bagels and coffee. From there we drove down the Trans Canada towards St. John’s and our last night in Newfoundland. We did decide to drive the Irish Loop and I think I can say for everyone that we are glad that we did [...]
Newfoundland Insectarium, Clarenville (again)
We left Gros Morne an hour behind our scheduled 8:00 AM departure. If you’ve read previous posts, you will know why. A little down the road from Gros Morne is the town of Deer Lake. It has one of only two insectariums in Canada – the other is in Montreal. There was some debate on [...]
Arches Provincial Park, Western Brook Pond, Moose Sightings & General Observations
If you’ve read past posts in this blog, you know I am now a fan of moose burgers. While I was not able to talk any of the kids into trying this new favorite of mine, Alex decided that he did indeed want to try moose toast. It has finally happened. We have spotted moose. [...]
